Guerrilla Games beat Horizon Zero Dawn to a pulp with an Ubisoft ugly stick, and Horizon Forbidden West was born. The project plan was: "Zero Dawn was a great success. Let's take everything we did in Zero Dawn, turn it up to 11, and call it a day. Jackpot!"
Let's ignore the, at least somewhat, shark-jumping storyline. Also ignore the ease with which the primitive people's of the world take to the technology built into the Focus device.
More weapons. More armor sets. More elemental attacks. More machines. Yet more machines. More side-quests. More. Of. Everything. By a zery quick count, Zero Dawn has 39 weapons, Forbidden West has 103.
Do yourself a favour. Put the game on easy mode, use a hunter bow and regular arrows to kill everything, and enjoy the story.
I really hope they turn things down a notch for the next game in the series. It's (all about) the story, stupid.
Probably yes. Almost certainly yes for Zero Dawn fans. But I'm not kidding about "just put it on easy mode."
