Edmundston to Salaberry-de-Valleyfield
Distance traveled (approximate): 611kms
Almost homeward bound. More of those gorgeous inter-New Brunswick - Quebec views.
On our way to our last motel, we stopped at the massive Carrier Harley / Can-Am / BMW Motorrad shop in Drummondville. These guys had everything, even the BMW Motorrad bikini, flip-flops, and board shorts.
From there it was off to Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. The motel we were supposed to book into turned out to be garbage. The first and only crap motel on this entire trip. Well, the Brockville motel my travelling companions stayed in back on day 1 was pretty gross too. Anyway, this place was pretty terrible. No ground floor access, a room decidedly on the lower end of the spectrum, and it absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke
After a very painful experience dealing with Hotels.com we were able to cancel the booking and we moved to the Hôtel Plaza Valleyfield. Much better! Clean and comfortable room with a very nice Italian restaurant downstairs. It was hotel, so we had to truck our stuff upstairs, but it was worth it. Our last night on the road … clean sheets, hot showers, and some excellent dining.
We tried walking off the pasta a bit by the waterfront. Here’s me in my sparkly “Pink Lady Slipper Tour” t-shirt from our 2014 trip to P.E.I.
